Anyway, that is only a moment of nostalgia. Too much off topic.

Degas is famous for painting actresses, dancers, and singers on the opera house stages. Some of them were on exhibition. So, I am going to start with my favorite |

I cannot image all the elegant movements of dancers can be exhibit on a canvas. |

Above is the whole group of dancer performing. I lve this one. Degas presented the depth well. |

Above is his famous "the Yellow Dancer". I really love it, but I like the other 2 better. |

This is really small comparing to the 3 paintings above it. It is a little dancer, probably 6 or 7 years old. I adore the pink dress. |

"The star" depicts a star dancer thanking to her audiance. It is famous, just I don't like it. |
And some other paintings, I wonder whether they are oil sketches or some other types of practice. |

Degas: On the track
Degas also has studies horse race, as one of his wealthy friend invited him to stay at his country residence for some time. This is a super popular sport among the French upper class. Here is Manet's depiction of this sport.

Racing is dangerous. Degas depicted a scene that a gentleman fell from his horse, possibly mortally injured.

And some of his practice or observations.
